There are so many remarkable hotels to stay in the Soho area, going from 5 stars to very affordable 2-star properties. I am going to rank the three properties I visited; 1 being the absolute best hotel in the Soho area, keep on reading!
1. Crosby Street Hotel
This hotel is a 5-star boutique property owned by the Firmdale Hotels company. This company owned by the famous designer Kit Kemp has proven to show the world her personality through the distinctive hotel décor of each of the properties she herself owns.
The big cat outside the building is a symbol that fits what the big apple is all about.
Kit has won notorious designer awards for her work and has especially focused on contemporary design with colorful touches with a fresh feel to it.
She believes and even wrote a book called “Every Room Tells a Story” and just like the rooms below, you can sense the exclusivity and especial feeling she is trying to translate to her guests.
The decor around the public areas are just remarkable and she clearly wants you to remember the hotel!
Not only is the décor one to remember but also the 5-star service the Crosby Street Hotel provides.
From having a butler at your service, to allowing you to customize your own drinks at the lobby bar, to the associates remembering your name and connecting with you at all times all complement an unforgettable stay!
Boutique properties just have something very special about them and one of those things is definitely the very passionate people at your complete service, ready to make your experience one of a kind.
2. NOMO Soho Hotel
This 4-star hotel is also an independent hotel managed by the prestigious Highgate management company. Highgate owns and operates high scale luxury properties in key locations around the world.
NOMO has a combination of nostalgic and modern feel to it with very distinctive décor that will allow you to experience Soho without even having to step out of the hotel.
The first thing you see when you arrive to the hotel is the spectacular entrance, like you are Alice about to walk into wonderland. It’s impressive and it gives you a sense of what it’s like inside.
Then, you enter the lobby, and you realize...
Okay this is not the lobby! It’s actually upstairs, but wow everything in the ground level looks very interesting!
Then, there is a beautiful library room that I couldn’t understand its purpose but thought it should be mentioned.
The property has 265 scenic rooms. The views of New York City are incredible, and the bathroom is super elegant and modern.
The amenities are my favorite thing! Malin+Goetz is a skincare brand that focuses on providing natural products made with green ingredients, like they will have a cilantro conditioner. Check out their website below if you want to learn more about them.
The hotel is just impressive, and it really keeps that wonderland feeling the more you walk around the property.
The NOMO hotel brand was inspired by the artistic scenery that Soho once had, and they definitely wanted to conserve expectations of this trendy neighborhood.
The best part of the public areas is the gorgeous restaurant area, where they serve a wine hour complementary for guests from 5-6pm. By staying here, you also enjoy exclusive discounts in many stores around Soho, which is always a good thing.
3. Soho Grand Hotel
Another 2nd floor lobby hotel that will make you feel like entering a mansion. The lobby lights are low, and the curtains are making it a very unique lobby experience.
The 4-star hotel translates the elegant architecture filled with unique art pieces to provoke the same feeling one has when in Soho.
The hotel also offers you the classic “Diner” experience and for 24/7 embracing the city that never sleeps.
The best part is their suite which has a spacious balcony with a fabulous view of New York city. The suites are sold on average for $1,500-2,000/night.
If it’s a special occasion and it’s not winter when you’re visiting New York, it’s definitely worth it.
I had a very nice interaction with the bellman, and when even the bellman is that attentive and passionate about service, you know what kind of property you are entering to.
Everything in the suite was spotless, from the paper towel to the amenities to the decorations all being where they belong. The bathroom was also very open with a lovely bathtub.
